January Auto Sales: Hyundai sales up 24 percent

<div id="subtitle">Hyundai sales rise 24 percent in January, best result since August</div><div><p>Hyundai Motor America said January sales rose 24 percent year-over-year, the automaker's best result since the government's "Cash for Clunkers" program spurred a rush of customers in August.</p><p>BY THE NUMBERS: Sales rose to 30,503 vehicles, from 24,512 last year.</p><p>TOP SELLER: The Elantra compact, with 7,690 sold.</p><p>HOT MODELS: The redesigned 2010 midsize Tucson SUV went on sale in the month, recording a 128 percent sales increase to 2,216.
