Russia arrests pro diver over river smuggling scheme

<div><p>Russian authorities have broken up a smuggling network that used a professional diver to swim with cigarettes across a river to Estonia, the Russian security service said Monday.</p><p>The regional border security department of the FSB -- the successor to the Soviet secret service the KGB -- said the smugglers took the contraband across the River Narva, which marks part of the border between the two countries.</p><p>"Cigarettes packed in waterproof material were attached to the diver's suit by rope, and he swam with them to Estonia," the FSB said in a statement.</p><p>Russian and Estonian border guards arrested five people, including the 25-year-old diver, in connection with the investigation, the FSB said.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=67203493&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
